This Summer Sees the Finest of Theatre Productions in the Capital City

With the terrific sunny months approaching you can observe a variety of musical productions at the incredible west end Theatreland. The most eagerly anticipated theatre show to open this Summer is Sister Act, this musical production is directed by the hilarious Whoopi Goldberg. The musical show is based on the memorable feature movies and features a brand new cast and a whole host of new religious themed songs to sing along to. The musical show has already opened to the critics and had great write ups. The best coming from The Sun and the Guardian, both who mentioned how great the musical show had been put together and how fantastic the songs were. This musical show sounds like an enormous hit and a musical that you must watch.

Another magnificent theatre show to premiere this Summer up in Theatreland is another film adaptation, Priscilla Queen of the Desert. The musical show has Aussie TV soap star Jason Donavan as the main role and sees Jason Donavan dress up in the most elaborate costumes ever seen on the West End. The songs again are catchy and upbeat. This production is a definite hit and a theatre production that is sure to capture the heart of Londoners and London tourists.

From time to time there are a few theatre productions that stand the test of time. One of the most popular shows is Phantom of the Opera. This musical show draws in the crowds week after week and is one of the most popular musicals in London. The musical show has been running for over fifteen years. The musical is based upon a French story and was written by the world renowned play writer Andrew Lloyd Webber. The production is about a young woman who’s father dies all of a sudden and sends her an angel from heaven to look after her. The angel falls in love with the woman and things turn ugly with the angel her father sent her threatening the young girls childhood sweatheart.
