Presidential Election Party Ideas

The Presidential Election Race is being played out on the world’s stage and everyone wants to know the result. On Tuesday, after you’ve headed out to the polls, gather to watch the results and read on for some great election party ideas to help you throw your Election party.

-Reuse old 4th of July party decor, dishware and utensils. Just think red, white and blue!

-Serve casual snacks, finger foods or order in some pizza. Don’t bother with elaborate hors d’oevres.

-Make cocktails that are named after the candidates. The recipes can be found below.

-For more election party food ideas, decorate cookies, cupcakes or a cake with a patriotic theme - red, white and blue icing.

-Play music that includes McCain and Obama’s favorite songs and their campaign songs.

Election Party Cocktails:

The Obama Rocks

Ingredients

  • 2 Oz Citrus Vodka
  • 1 Oz Blue Curacao
  • 1 Whole 1/2 juice from lime
  • 3 oz Sprite

Steps

  • Combine all ingredients into cocktail shaker.
  • Shake and pour into a chilled glass with crushed or shaved ice.
  • Garnish with a slice of pear

McCain, Straight Up

  • 2 Oz Respado Tequila
  • 1 Oz passion fruit juice
  • 1 Mint leaf for Garnish
  • Raspberries for garnish
  • 1/4 Oz simple syrup
  • 6 Whole fresh Pomegranate seeds and juice

Steps

  • Muddle pomegranate seeds in the base of a cocktail shaker
  • Add all ingredients to the shake; shake with ice
  • strain into chilled glasses
